Emma '20

14-year-old Emma doesn’t just talk about social justice, she practices it. The 8th grader recently joined the Detroit Jews for Justice, a group dedicated to fighting against social injustices. She’s been petitioning with the group to get earned paid sick leave for all workers on the November ballot. Emma keeps the petition in her school backpack. When she’s older she hopes to reform the prison system. But for now, she loves being in school musicals and playing soccer, basketball and volleyball. Science and English are her favorite subjects and she is the student government moderator for the entire middle school. She’s a #RoeperKid.
