The Roeper Review is an internationally acclaimed journal published by the Roeper Institute, relied on by scholars and practitioners in the field of gifted education. Each quarterly publication includes a column titled “Ask the Expert” featuring an interview with a Roeper alum who is an expert in their field.
We are pleased to share the most recent Ask the Expert interview with Roeper Alum Brad Rourke ’83, Kettering Foundation Director of External Affairs. His interview highlights his lifelong work invigorating and preserving democratic principles, an interest and passion first sparked by his time at The Roeper School.
For me, the main drivers of success are two attitudes: First, a genuine love of the ideals of democracy.1 This is actually something that Roeper instilled in me, even though I did not know it at the time. Everyone matters. The second characteristic is tolerance of a high degree of ambiguity. Brad Rourke, Roeper Review, 45:4, 272-274
