New Roeper School History Website

The Roeper School History Website was developed by School Historian Marcia Ruff and web designer Jon Wilcox '03. The site was launched on Monday, August 23, with a presentation to the school’s faculty and staff on their first day back to prepare for the school year. RoeperSchoolHistory.org is now live.

The site will bring together in one place many of George and Annemarie’s writings and presentations in audio, video, and written form, with links to other relevant sites and works by other people. It will cover the school’s history and philosophy from its founding to the present.

As the oldest independent school for gifted children in the United States, Roeper’s Archive holds documents that uniquely share what gifted education looked like in the 1950s and 1960s when George and Annemarie were pioneering a nascent field. This website will finally give scholars access to those records.

The material on the website at launch is only the beginning. More material will be added over the coming year. Please visit and share your thoughts, questions, and requests through the Contact form on the site.
