Three Roeper Students Chosen for Honors Band

Eric Ambrose
Talented Roeper Middle School students auditioned and won places in Oakland County Honors Band.
On April 30, Meira Gable (clarinet), Noah Gibbs (flute), and Aiden Perov (French Horn) participated in the MSBOA District IV MS Honors Band. This was an ensemble made up of 7th and 8th grade students from around Oakland County. Students were chosen through a nomination process by their teachers and while over 200 nominations were sent in, just over half of those were selected to take part. All three Roeper nominations were selected to participate!

Two ensembles were formed and led by guest conductors Bob Ambrose (retired from Bloomfield Hills Public Schools) and Damien Crutcher (Founder/Director of Crescendo Detroit). Meira and Noah played with Mr. Crutcher's ensemble, and Aiden performed in Mr. Ambrose's. Students were sent music about 3 weeks prior to the event and only had around 5 hours of ensemble rehearsal on the event day to prepare for the concert.

Here are the two bands performing:
