Farewell to Our Dutch Visitors

Marcia Ruff
Last Friday we had to say farewell to the ten Dutch students and two teachers who visited Roeper the week of March 2. They are all students at Opus, a school for the gifted that is modeled on Roeper's philosophy. This is the 14th year Opus students have come over to our school. They had a great week visiting classes on both campuses, touring Detroit, visiting museums, trying new food, buying Roeper gear, and improving their already-amazing English skills. The Ford Rouge Plant tour was a particular hit, since they don't have anything like it in the Netherlands.

The best part of their trip was the chance to be part of an American family and we want to give a shout-out to our wonderful host families: Lori and Ryan Talbott, Mia and Michael; Ann Williams and Frank Edwards and Devan; Jennifer and Paul Bonde, Adam and Christopher; Jennifer and Jim Watry and Calvin; Sarah and Kenny Miller, Elyse and Alexa; Lysa Postula-Stein and Ben; and Micah and Ashleigh Brown. Your generosity is a wonderful expression of Roeper's global citizenship.
