Speak Out: Forensics Acting Camp

Just to clear up the most commonly asked question, this is an ACTING camp, not a crime scene investigation camp. At SPEAK OUT: FORENSICS ACTING CAMP, a two-week long program, students currently in grades 5 through 8, use plays, stories, poems, or their own writing to focus in on the details of performance and public speaking. Students can perform a solo piece, with a partner, or in a group performance. Participants play with different techniques that address line interpretation, character development, stage fright, body language, improvisational theater, and finding ways to connect with their own emotions and with their audience through the words of their piece. Students will be working with some of the top forensics coaches in the state of Michigan.

Students are welcome to bring any of their favorite children's stories, poems, excerpts from books or plays, or TV/movie scenes to the first day of camp. They are also welcome to bring their own creative writing. Please keep in mind that we will have a little show from 2-3:00pm on the Friday at the end of the second week of our camp session.
