Roeper Alumna, Melissa (Missy) Sommerfeld Gresalfi ’95 was recently interviewed for the “Ask the Expert” feature in the Roeper Review, an international, quarterly journal that publishes scholarly articles about all dimensions of gifted education.
Missy is an associate professor in Mathematics Education and the Learning Sciences at Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College, and an expert in her field. In her interview, she answers questions specific to her work, as well as how she developed the skills that have contributed to her success (Spoiler Alert – Her disposition towards learning and engaging the world stems back to her experiences at Roeper!).

On Saturday, March 3, from 9-11am, the Roeper Philosophy in Action program will feature Stacy Holloman- Stage IV Teacher, Mary McGeehan- LS Art Teacher, and Dan Thibodeau- Alum '14, M/US Math Teacher.They will demonstrate how they put the Roeper Philosphy into action through their curriculum or methodology. This is an interactive class with lots of opportunity for engaging discussion.

Heather Joy Thompson ‘95 spoke at Roeper's all-school assembly on September 13, 207. Heather Joy is a lawyer and former Peace Corp volunteer, and is this year's U.S. Department of State Diplomat in Residence for the Southern California region. In addition to her fascinating legal career, she spent time as assistant to rap artist and producer Sean "P.Diddy" Combs. During a 2015 interview Oprah Winfrey called Heather Joy's story, "impressive". Heather Joy's inspirational message included a call to action for Roeper students to do the following three things every day: LEARN something, DO something, and LEAVE something.
