When Joseph wanted extra one-on-one time with projects or to take two science courses in one semester, he always found support from Roeper staff. “You’re not going to find many places where teachers will come in at 7am on a Saturday to help you succeed,” says Joseph. “I love Roeper. It’s been a huge part of my life.” The senior applied early decision to Yale, where he was accepted and will attend this fall. Joseph wants to pursue a pre-med program and find cures for diseases. “I know it’s a lofty goal, but I hope I can do it,” he says. “Becoming a doctor has always been my goal.” Joseph volunteers with the health clinic at his church and other Detroit based community service programs. He is also involved in debate, forensics, Model UN, student government, plays soccer and is a student rep on the Roeper Board of Trustees. He’s a #RoeperKid.
