Middle School Forensics Night, December 1

The Roeper Middle School Forensics Team has been very busy, most recently participating in the Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Association (MIFA) Fall Middle Level Tournament. Seven members represented Roeper in various speech categories that included public address, limited preparation, and individual interpretation, with two additional students participating in a day-long workshop to learn more about Forensics. In addition, four members of the Upper School forensics team assisted either as judges or by supporting students throughout the day.

Although a relatively small event, students prepared well and brought their best performances, receiving excellent feedback from judges. Three students earned perfect scores in all three rounds of competition and finished in first place in their respective categories: Bryce Broughton (Impromptu), Lee Drain (Prose), and Drexel Lanivich (Storytelling 5/6). Sunny Shanker placed second in Original Interpretation, Robert Walinske was second in Poetry, and Dushyanth Hettiarachchi, and Lilly Brinn placed second and third respectively in Prose.

Congratulations to all of our incredible team members! If you would like to see these students’ award-winning performances, please join us Friday, December 1, at 7:00 pm for Middle School Forensics Night in the Acheson theater on the Birmingham Campus. All are welcome to attend.
