Meet Our RPC Co-Chairs

Carolyn Borman
We are enriched in so many ways by our Roeper Parent Council (RPC) volunteers. From Roeperfest to Trunk or Treat to Teacher Appreciation Luncheons and so much more, we should be appreciative of all of the hours these dedicated people spend on making Roeper a friendly, fun and inviting place to be. This year the RPC leaders are Co-Chairs Jenifer Oberoi and Annie Yamamoto who were recently spotted handing out ice cream confections to our faculty and staff following our opening meeting and lunch. You will be seeing them all over the place and we'd like you to get to know them through their answers to a few questions.

JENIFER:

What are some things you'd like to share about yourself, your family and birthplace?

I grew up in Idaho and have also lived in Virginia and Pennsylvania.  We recently moved to Michigan, and it has been fun exploring our new state.  I have two daughters at Roeper, Isha in 10th grade and Diya in 8th grade.

What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I am an RN, but I am not working right now because keeping up with two teens is keeping me busy enough! I love spending time with my family, traveling, reading and hanging out with my three-legged Corgi, Lucas.

What is it that appealed to you about Roeper?
Roeper has been a great fit for our daughters, and I enjoyed working with staff members and other parents this last year with Roeperfest and the staff appreciation committee. I am looking forward to next year and I am excited to continue to help build the Roeper community.

ANNIE:

If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be and why?
I would live in the Philippines, the birthplace of my parents, in order to learn the language and learn to cook the food.

What are some things you’d like to share about yourself and your family.
My son, Ren, is in 10th grade and is a Roeper lifer. When Ren was born, I stopped working as a Med/Peds (Internal Medicine and Pediatrics) physician. I hope to return to health care after he graduates. I’m originally from New York, but I’ve lived in Michigan for over 20 years.

What are your hobbies and interests?
I enjoy growing vegetables in the summertime. I gave away a lot of zucchini and eggplant!
