Middle & Upper School Textbook Co-Op - How to

What to do with all of your used textbooks and books? Be a part of the Roeper Book Co-Op! This well-loved Roeper tradition recycles textbooks and books in our Birmingham campus community. Deposit any used Roeper textbook in the collection bins located in each entrance vestibule by the last day of school, June 7. Please read below to see how to participate, including new steps in the process.

What to do now:
Collect any textbooks and books for Roeper classes that your family no longer needs.
Drop off your books in the labeled bins located in each entrance vestibule (and Commons area) before the last day of school. If you find more books or can’t make the deadline, please email Annie Yamamoto to make arrangements.

*NEW* Take a picture of your books and send it to annieyamamoto@ameritech.net or text 248-410-9056, so we can add your name to the list of folks who contributed books.

Later in August:
Once we finalize the dates and times for the Book Co-Op, an email will be sent out. It will take place in the Library at the Birmingham campus. The first day is reserved for the families who donated books into the book swap. We plan to hold this early enough so that you have time to order any books you need but are unable to get at the Book Co-Op.

If you are a newly enrolled family or don’t have any books to donate: Make sure you are either a part of our RPC Facebook group or are signed up for news alerts (on MyRoeper, click on your name in the top right corner, then Settings, then Notifications, and make sure that you are receiving the news alerts for Middle and Upper School Parents.

A loose rule of thumb is that we encourage you to select about as many books in August as you donated the year before. We are all on the honor system as the RPC won’t keep track of who donated which books, but try to keep it in mind as you are planning for what you will need to purchase in the late summer. It’s a tricky rule of thumb as we cannot guarantee that the books your student needs will be available at the Co-Op.
