There was a lot of excitement last week as the Middle School plunged into the study of Food Justice. Teachers worked hard to produce an engaging, challenging, and thought-provoking curriculum for the week. In class, on field trips throughout the Detroit area, in small groups and assemblies, the students explored not only what healthy food is and its importance, but also who has access to it and who doesn't. They had many opportunities to make a contribution, create solutions and think hard about the topics brought forth through movies, discussions, presentations, workshops, group work, field trips and community service.
