Roeper Summer Programs is celebrating its 75th anniversary and is looking for energetic candidates who enjoy working with children. Paid and volunteer opportunities are available.
Roeper Summer Programs is celebrating its 75th anniversary and is looking for energetic candidates who enjoy working with children. This is a seasonal position that runs from June 13 to August 12. Camp hours are 8:00 am–4:00 pm. We host campers ages 3–12.   
 Position: Head Counselor  
  • Duties: Prepare and deliver quality instruction and programming, supervise campers, and prepare lesson plans and supply lists. There is an option to work additional hours for extra pay.
  • Qualifications: High school or GED; meets minimum age requirement of 18 or older for licensed childcare staff members, Childcare and/or Camp Counselor experience.
  • Wage: $15 per hour  
Position: Lifeguard  
  • Duties: Contribute to the safety of camp participants by overseeing and providing appropriate instruction and supervision of campers for pool-based activities, water play, and enforcing safety rules. There is the option to work as a swim instructor after camp for additional pay.
  • Qualifications: Current Lifeguard certification, prefer experience in lifeguarding and swim instruction.
  • Wage: $15.50 per hour 
 
Roeper Student Community Service Program 
Counselor-In-Training
Roeper students who are 13 years or older may volunteer as a Counselor-In-Training (CIT) to complete community service requirements. We are unable to accept non-Roeper students to this program. First-year volunteers are allowed to volunteer a maximum of two sessions and follow the same schedule and routines as CITs. They are held to the same rules and codes of conduct. 

 
COVID-19 Protocols: Roeper Summer Camp offers in-person programs and activities. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and our concern for the wellbeing of our community, vaccinations are recommended for summer camp employees.  Employees are required to follow school policies including the health and safety guidance in the Roeper School’s COVID-19 protocols.
