Stage IV Students Protest Climate Abuses

Carmen Flora
Stage IV's Youth for the Climate elective led by librarian Carmen Flora just wrapped up with a walk out protest. The students want to spread their “go green” messages in person and online.

In the class, students learned about human causes of global warming and what we, individually and as a society, can do to stop it. They wrote letters to government officials and CEOs and asked classmates to sign climate pledges. Their final gathering was in the spirit of Greta Thunberg’s Fridays for Future protests. They walked out of class to hold a demonstration along Woodward (behind the fence) and did a campus cleanup.
