Middle School Students Meet Congresswoman Haley Stevens

We shared our passions and discussed the important work we're doing in our school and our class. Additionally, she talked to us about public and persuasive speaking, the importance of teamwork and how to connect with your audience, especially those who disagree with you (super important). It was a highlight to end the year and served as inspiration as students prepare their own persuasive speeches (and continue persevering in a pandemic).  We even agreed to dress up for the occasion. 

 

Great work to the 6th and 7th graders for their great questions and overall commitment to working to develop themselves to continue being the change the world needs.
