New Faculty and Staff! Introducing Amy Romano

Carolyn Borman
Amy is not new to Roeper, by any means, but she has made the transition from Roeper alumna to Stage III Team Teacher. From this writer's perspective, it was the transition from a 7th grade Social Studies student to a passionate and dedicated educator! Recently, Amy has spent her days as a permanent substitute teacher at Roeper and she is currently working on a Masters Degree at Bankstreet College of Education. Welcome to Roeper in your new role, Amy!

Here are her answers to our questions:

1. If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be? Cinque Terre, Italy

2. If you could invite 3 guests, dead or alive, to dinner, who would they be? Abraham Lincoln, Annemarie Roeper, Eleanor Roosevelt

3. What are some things you'd like to share about yourself, your family and birthplace? My mother works at Roeper. I was born in Iowa City, IA.

4. What are your hobbies and interests outside of working at Roeper? I like to knit and cook. I play soccer and I’ve recently started playing disc golf.

5. What is a topic or skill that you love to teach and why?  I love to teach math because there are always specific correct answers, but so many ways to get to them.

6. What is it that appealed to you about Roeper when you took the job? The incredible community that makes Roeper more than just a school.
