If there’s a crowd favorite at Roeper, it’s Clyde. A sophomore, Clyde has a passion and penchant for performance. He is active in forensics and theater, and enjoys performing at the Roeper Talent Show. It was at one of these talent shows where Clyde unleashed his original song, “Jenny.” A ballad of broken hearts and lost love inspired by the country songs his mom played growing up, “Jenny” has become a cult classic with students and is enthusiastically requested whenever Clyde is on stage. When he’s not writing alt-country tearjerkers, Clyde spends time cultivating his other passion- animals. Through a class initiative, he became deeply involved with an elephant sanctuary in Tennessee where retired elephants from zoos and circuses experiencing behavioral issues are given long-term care. He’s a #RoeperKid.
