Year End Events 5.27.20
The end of a Roeper school year is usually filled with celebrations, culminating events, special projects, concerts and ceremonies, and this year is no different. While these activities will take place in a virtual setting, I cannot stress enough how important it is that we take the time to join in these culminating moments as one Roeper School community and honor the exceptional efforts of our students and teachers.
It is easy to get stuck on the notion that school is a place and these events are less significant because of their virtual nature – nothing could be further from the truth. What matters is our connection, the care we show one another, and the love we show our children in honoring their efforts and resilience.
The pandemic has pushed us to develop creative ways to share the efforts of our students; I am so proud of their commitment, energy, and tenacity in seeing these projects through to completion. I know you will share my special sense of pride in seeing the thoughtful manner in which these celebrations have been designed.
Stages, grades, and divisions will have their special moments over the next two weeks. Please join the community in the upcoming watch parties; we are bonded together as one Roeper when we share these experiences. More importantly, we send the message to our children that the time and energy they put into their schoolwork was meaningful, valued, and noticed.
The 2019-2020 school year has been one of overcoming adversity. Celebrate your family and the partnership you sustained with the school as we enjoy the closing events of this very unusual school year.
