Interdisciplinary Week

What is interdisciplinary week? For one week near the end of first semester, middle schoolers collectively conduct in-depth research and learning on a particular topic.
Teachers and students coordinate activities, workshops, speakers, lessons, and field trips as part of this experiential learning project. The goal for the week is to broaden topic understanding, help students feel empowered to enact change, and give them a chance to recharge, reimagine, and reinvent before the second semester begins. Our most recent interdisciplinary week focused on food justice and equity.
