Roeper Summer Programs are designed to provide an enriching and rewarding experience for every child. Our camps place value on the relationships between children and staff and carry out the Roeper philosophy. Diversity, an appreciation for all people, and respect for everyone's potential are central characteristics of the Roeper community. While the school is designed for gifted children, participation in Roeper Summer Programs is open to all children. Through the high caliber of our counselors, we deliver a program so rich and varied that all children's talents, skills and interests are explored and developed in an engaging atmosphere.
The Roeper School’s mission, educating and inspiring gifted students to think as individuals and engage as a community with compassion for each other and this world, extends into our camp life. Roeper Summer Day Camp is open to all children. Camp life is part of your child’s total education. Our well-trained and experienced counselors deliver a program that is rich and varied. Children’s talents, skills and interests are explored and developed in a nurturing and fun atmosphere. Freedom to choose exists within an organized structure. Roeper Camp is dedicated to giving each child a place to feel secure, gain self-confidence and grow.
Summer Day Camp
Roeper Summer Day Camp is a recreational day camp for children 3-12 years old. Talents, skills and interests are explored and developed in a nurturing and challenging atmosphere. Freedom to choose daily activities exists within an organized structure. These choices provide the intrinsic motivation necessary for empowerment and self-fulfillment.
Hybrid Camps: Day Camp + Sports or Technology
For day campers who are interested in soccer, lacrosse, or technology, a hybrid camp option is available. Campers spend ½ the day at day camp and ½ the day at soccer, lacrosse, or technology camp.
Summer Stock Theatre
Summer Stock Theatre is designed to develop and showcase the theatre skills of campers, beginning to experienced. Campers work with professional theatre instructors and participate in activities to develop acting, singing and dancing skills. Campers participate in a final show at the end of their session. Four programs for children 4 years of age through 8th grade are offered.
A variety of specialty camps are offered to children currently in grades 2-11. These camps are smaller in size and shorter in duration than other Roeper camps, and allow campers to have fun and learn from Roeper teachers who are experts in their fields. From Forensics to 3D Printing to Photography, there is something for everyone.
