How does the Philosophy live on our campuses? This class will feature members of the Roeper faculty talking about a piece of their curriculum or methodology that puts the Roeper philosophy into action, such as building community, social justice within the classroom, cross-age collaboration, equality of relationships and much more! This class will have an interactive format with opportunity for engaging discussion. ***This is a DON'T MISS opportunity!***

Across Time and Space Movie: March 12th, 6:30-8:30pm, Bloomfield Hills Campus, Steward Building, Bretzlaff Commons
This 60-minute documentary by filmmaker Kathryn Golden explores the background of Roeper and the two schools founded by Annemarie's parents. It features a number of interviews with Annemarie, who passed away in 2012 at the age of 93, and includes archival footage from all the schools as well as interviews with Roeper family members and students, faculty, and alumni of the schools, It explains the roots of George and Annemarie's educational philosophy and how the trauma they suffered in Germany strengthened their belief that democracy, tolerance and non-violence are the only paths to a humane world.

Roeper History & Philosophy: April 15th, 8:30-11:30am, Bloomfield Hills Campus, Steward Building, Bretzlaff Commons
What is the Roeper Philosophy? How did it come about? Why is it still going strong after more than 75 years? Taught by School Historian Marcia Ruff and Teacher Emeritus Emery Pense, this class covers the school's history, philosophy and culture through readings, film and discussion. Whether you have been here for years or are new to Roeper, you will learn something from this class, and it is strongly recommended for all new parents.
