Carter Koenigsknecht Wins 2nd in Entrepreneur Contest

Carolyn Borman
Carter Koenigsnecht '26 is a Roeper Middle School student by day and an entrepreneur by night! He had a big idea which he developed and submitted to the 2021 Kids Idea Tank. Carter was one of 15 kids to go forward as a finalist in the 3rd Annual Entrepreneurship Competition for Kids. "The competition aims to inspire young minds to test out, share, and hone their entrepreneurial skills". (Kids Idea Tank)

Carter had the wonderful idea to create “small business city boxes” - subscription boxes which promote and uplift small businesses. As explained on the website, "Small Business City Boxes is a monthly subscription box service where subscribers recieve small business products from a certain U.S city each month. Also included in each box is a booklet explaining more about the products you recieved and the small businesses they came from. The booklet also includes information about that month's city. With small businesses struggling nationwide, it is important that we can support them as much as possible."

As it turns out, the judges thought this was a very good idea because Carter was awarded 2nd Place in the competition! See Carter's presentation to hear him speak about his idea: Carter (find it at the1:32:23 mark)

Congratulations to Carter and his family!
