Roeper Model UN takes Mexico City awards!

Ten Roeper Upper School students participated virtually in the Olinca Academy of Mexico City’s Model UN Friday and Saturday March 5 and 6.  Roeper joined delegations from Mexican, US, and European schools.   Roeper students represented seven nations, UK, France, Ireland, Denmark, Poland, Australia, and US. 

Two Roeper juniors were recognized as OLINMUN’s Best Delegates, Rose Li (Front row in photo - pink sweater) in the European Union and Lily Kappa (Standing directly behind Rose) in the Security Council.  Four Roeper students were given Honorable Mention: seniors Hannah Wise (2nd from right) and David Cornier-Bridgeforth, both in the Historic Security Council, as well as senior Francis Allen (Far left) and sophomore Signe Smith in the European Union.  Other Roeper students participating were junior Matteo Papadopoulos in the Historic Security Council, sophomores Andrew Klein (1st on left, front row) and Ava Thomas in the Emergency Crisis, and freshman Philip Rabinovich in the Security Council. 

Roeper’s final MUN conference of 2021 is the Oakland University Model UN, Saturday March 13.

Note: This Model UN Conference had two “firsts” for Roeper: the first Upper School MUN conference with equal female and male representation; and the first time that multiple Best Delegate Awards were won only by Roeper female delegates. Happy National Women's History Month!
