A Peek Inside a Roeper Virtual Classroom - MS American History

Reem Abousamra
These photos are from my American History class - where we are studying thematically - not chronologically. We are in our first unit. Unit 1: Who Tells the Story?

The first photo shows students holding up their doodles to the camera. The assignment was to draw a doodle that represents a quote about history. It was to get them up and thinking for learning about the bias of historians

The second two photos are of our Virtual Artifact Gallery activity. We collected artifacts from the house for homework last week. Sent in photos and I created a virtual gallery. The students were learning about how historians interpret facts based on previous experiences and knowledge i.e. bias. They were required to make observation, build an inference, draw a conclusion about the artifact owner and guess who the artifact belonged to. This activity was done live and students were chatting about the artifacts as they moved through them at different paces.
