Our Permanent Guest Teachers: Introducing Angela Chapman!

Carolyn Borman
This year, we have on staff five permanent Guest Teachers (aka Substitutes) who will be in our buildings every day. This has been done as a safety measure in limiting the exposure of our students and other faculty to more people. There are three teachers who are assigned to the Bloomfield Campus and two assigned to the Birmingham Campus. Since they are permanent fixtures on our campuses, we wanted you to get to know them and have asked each to tell us a little bit about themselves. In this post we are introducing Angela Chapman who will be working at the Birmingham Campus!

I graduated from Oakland University in 1977. My degree is in Psychology. I have one son and I will be a grandma in December. I love to travel, especially to Europe. I run, hike, cycle & kick box.

I enjoyed a 30 year career as a parole/probation agent for the State of MI. My last 7 years were spent as a lead agent, traveling throughout the State teaching employees about Prisoner ReEntry & how to operate the new software computer programs for recidivism testing.

I became familiar with Roeper many years ago when the school was recommended for my son. I completely embrace the Roeper philosophy. I was a coach/team manager for Odyssey of the Mind and Destination Imagination, creative problem solving programs for all grade levels, for seven years. We competed in both State & international levels. The philosophy of these challenges are very similar to Roeper’s teaching methods.
