Our Permanent Guest Teachers: Introducing Joe Terranova!

Carolyn Borman
This year, we have on staff five permanent Guest Teachers (aka Substitutes) who will be in our buildings every day. This has been done as a safety measure in limiting the exposure of our students and other faculty to more people. There are three teachers who are assigned to the Bloomfield Campus and two assigned to the Birmingham Campus. Since they are permanent fixtures on our campuses, we wanted you to get to know them and have asked each to tell us a little bit about themselves. In this post we are introducing Joe Terranova who will be working on the Bloomfield Campus!

I’ve been associated with The Roeper School for many, many years. I’ve had three children graduated from Roeper, with my two sons attending the school all the way from Stage I, and my daughter for her high school years. I am retired from a career in the IT industry and have been substitute teaching at Roeper for about 2.5 years. Also the last few years I was working part time with Olympia Entertainment as an usher, so it’s possible you saw me at Little Caesars Arena for a game or concert, or at DTE or Meadowbrook during the summer. At least up until that all went on hold last March!

For recreation I am big into sports. I do a lot of running, play softball, and took up soccer about 5 years ago partly on a dare. I have pretty weak foot skills, but learned to play keeper and I love it, and play year round now. I really enjoy getting to know and working with so many Roeper kids of all ages. I look forward to the opportunity to work with the kids daily this year.
