Seventh grader Montgomery found her way to Roeper because she didn’t feel challenged in her previous school. Her first impressions once she arrived? “It was such a friendly atmosphere. Kids from different grades and age groups were hanging out together.” This welcoming environment coupled with the expectations set by her teachers made her finally feel at home. “Teachers really want the students to be involved. More than just teaching students Math or English, they’re preparing students to develop the tools to succeed in life,” she says. She appreciates the openness of the teacher-student dynamic where teachers are available and open to questions and conversations outside of class. Curious about how things work, Montgomery gravitates towards science and space exploration. She’s also very active in sports including tennis, basketball, and ice skating. She’s a #RoeperKid.
