Apply to Roeper

The Roeper School seeks best-fit candidates for admission to our school. We find that gifted students who are curious about learning, internally motivated, self-directed, and have a high ability to think abstractly are most successful in our school environment. Admission to our school is based on a review of many factors, including a gifted IQ test result, strong prior academic performance, positive teacher report, a successful visit to our school, and the student’s ability to give something back to our school community. All admissions decisions are made by a committee of Roeper staff members who seek gifted students who will be successful in the Roeper environment. 

Admissions Procedures

  • Lower School: Stage I (Preschool)

    1. Contact Kellie Bagne, Admissions Assistant, at 248-203-7397 or kellie.bagne@roeper.org to schedule a campus tour and parent interview. This is an opportunity to tell us about your child, discuss our program, and tour the campus.
    2. Submit the Application for Enrollment and the Parent/Guardian Questionnaire along with the $75 application fee to the Admissions Department.
    3. Once all paperwork is submitted, contact the Admissions Department to schedule a classroom observation for your child. This qualitative assessment will consist of a partial day visit in the classroom. A full IQ test will be required before a child enters Stage II.
    4. Request Student Records. Ask your child’s current teacher or counselor to complete the Teacher Report. The teacher/counselor should mail the completed form to the Admissions Department. Send a signed Academic Records Release Form to your child’s current school if applicable. The school should return photocopies of your child’s complete records, including transcripts, grades, other standardized test and achievement results, special assessments, and any other relevant evaluations.
    5. The applicant’s file will be complete and ready for review by the Admissions Committee once all of the above steps have been completed. A decision will be made at the next scheduled acceptance meeting and you will receive the results within a few working days. In certain cases, an additional interview or evaluation may be requested. Upon acceptance, an enrollment contract will be mailed. The signed enrollment contract with deposit must be returned by the date indicated to reserve a place for your child.
  • Lower School: Stage II (K - 1st Grade)

    1. Contact Lisa Bottesi, Dean of Lower School Admissions, at 248-203-7316 or lisa.bottesi@roeper.org to schedule a campus tour and parent interview. This is an opportunity to tell us about your child, discuss our program, and tour the campus.
    2. Submit the Application for Enrollment and the Parent/Guardian Questionnaire  along with the $75 application fee to the Admissions Department.
    3. At this time, you may request an application for Financial Aid by sending an email to tiffany.hadjantoni@roeper.org.
    4. All applicants Stage II through Grade 12 must complete an IQ Test (WPPSI or the WISC) at their expense and submit the results to the Admissions Department. A copy of the tester’s full, detailed report, including all subtest scores and interpretation of those scores, should be submitted to the Admissions Department. Consult our Referral List or contact any licensed psychologist who administers IQ tests directly to schedule a testing appointment. All expenses relating to IQ Testing are the responsibility of the applicant. An IQ test administered within the past three years may be considered valid.

    2. Submit the Application for Enrollment and the Parent/Guardian Questionnaire  along with the $75 application fee to the Admissions Department. Middle and Upper School students must also submit the Student Questionnaire.
