Adeline Senic Places High in Fencing Competitions

Carolyn Borman
Roeper 10th Grader, Adeline Senic has recently competed at several Cadet World Cup competitions in Europe. She placed 2nd in Budapest, Hungary in November, finished 5th in Poznan, Poland and won the silver medal in Naples, Italy. She is now ranked second in the European under 17 rankings.
At the Junior Olympics in Denver last weekend Adeline finished 8th in a field of more than 300 competitors in the under 20 women’s foil.  The Junior Olympics are the national championships for that age group.

Adeline trains at the Renaissance Fencing Club under the watchful eyes of her parents, Anatolie Senic and Ann Marsh-Senic who both competed successfully in the international fencing world. Ann started fencing here at Roeper School with beloved fencing and dance instructor, Norma Carter.  She was the 1994 and 1995 US National Champion. She was also a three time Olympian fencer. Anatolie was the 2004 and 2005 Moldovan National Champion and a World Championship participant from 2005 – 2018.

Congratulations to Adeline and we look forward to hearing about her future successes!
