Alumni play an important role in the Roeper community, serving as bridges for new and future generations of gifted students. We hope the information here helps you remain connected to Roeper and your classmates.
Upper School students just received the schedule and course offerings of MSON (Malone School Online Network). MSON provides upper level students at registered Malone Schools with a variety of college level online courses that enhance each member school’s existing curriculum. Roeper is one of twenty-two member schools, and the only school in Michigan that participates. Students in real time using our new online learning classroom in the Naas Commons participate in classes with other capable students across the country.
History is our constant teacher, filled with critical lessons for us to internalize from the choices of our predecessors. History lets us see the steps we took forward into the “unknown future”, or if we are not thoughtful, the struggles that continue from the lessons we have not internalized.
Please keep us updated on your current contact information so we may share opportunities and news. Attuned to the changing demands of the world and confident in their role in it, our graduates move on with a hunger to engage and become vibrant world citizens. They become leaders on college campuses, in workplaces and communities, in a variety of fields and ways. We are proud of our alumni’s legacy of support and achievement and often welcome them back to campus to share experiences and connect with current students.
Heather Joy Thompson ‘95 spoke at Roeper's all-school assembly on September 13, 207. Heather Joy is a lawyer and former Peace Corp volunteer, and is this year's U.S. Department of State Diplomat in Residence for the Southern California region. In addition to her fascinating legal career, she spent time as assistant to rap artist and producer Sean "P.Diddy" Combs. During a 2015 interview Oprah Winfrey called Heather Joy's story, "impressive". Heather Joy's inspirational message included a call to action for Roeper students to do the following three things every day: LEARN something, DO something, and LEAVE something.
