April 18, 2012

After being recognized last summer as the youngest person to ever to reach the number one spot on 96.3 WDVD-FM’s “The Radio Café” Indie Music Channel poll, Roeper student, Amanda Morgan, continues to have success in the music industry as a nominee in four categories at this spring’s Indie Music Channel Awards.

Morgan’s single, “Just Wanna Know Why,” was not only voted #1 in the state for over a month last summer, but it also clinched her a nomination for the “Best Female Pop Artist” award. Other nominations include “Best Young Pop Artist” for “More Like Crashing,” “Best Teen Female Artist” for “Saturday in June,” and “Best Teen Song” for “Ten Steps Back,” which also reached #1 in state in 2010.

In addition to being nominated, Morgan is also staged to perform at the event. She has previously performed live on Fox 2 News and at “Arts, Beats & Eats.”

A Novi resident, Morgan is a senior at The Roeper School. She was recently accepted to the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University where she plans to pursue a business law degree while continuing her music career.

The Indie Music Channel Awards will be hosted at the House of Blues in Hollywood, California on April 29th, 2012.
