Lower School Academics
Stage I
In the Hill House (for children enrolled two, three, or four days/week) and in the Domes (children enrolled five days/week), Stage I students explore concepts related to language, aesthetics, social behavior, mathematics, etc., in an exploratory, experiential, and shared way.
Stage I Hill House (Ages 21/2 - 5)
- 2 days/week (half or full; choice of days)
- 3 days/week (half or full; choice of days)
- 4 days/week (half or full; choice of days)
Stage I Domes (Ages 3 - 5)
- 5 days/week (half or full; Monday - Friday)

Stage II
In the Domes, shared inquiry continues in Stage II with more emphasis on expanding academic concepts and skills and the beginnings of self reflection as a learner.
Stage II (Kindergarten and 1st grade) Typical Day
Stage III - IV
The entire 12-acre campus becomes the learning and playing field for Stage III and IV students. Housed in the new Steward Classroom building Stage III students experience a time of dynamic and dramatic growth necessary for the self responsibility, other-centeredness, and academic abstractions nurtured in Stage IV.
