ROEPER SUMMER DANCE CAMP 2013 (Grades K-12)
For summer 2013 our Dance Camp will be held at our Bloomfield Hills Campus due to construction at our Birmingham Campus. We will continue offering this program at our Birmingham Campus during the summer of 2014. Please contact the camp office at (248)203-7370 for the registration form.
The Roeper Summer Dance Camp is designed to engage students with a passion for dance, in a challenging and creative summer dance experience. Each one-week camp provides young dancers with a solid foundation in ballet and modern dance technique, combined with the opportunity to explore and refine their choreographic and interpretive dance skills. Classes will be held in the dance studio of The Roeper School’s Birmingham campus, conveniently located on Adams Road, two blocks north of Maple Road. The dance studio is equipped with a sprung wood floor, portable ballet barres and mirrors.
All classes will be taught by Roeper faculty member, Sandra Allen. Ms. Allen is the Artistic Director of the Roeper Repertory Dance Theatre and the Roeper Dance Ensemble. During the academic year, she teaches dance, creative movement, performing arts and yoga to children in pre-school through grade 12 at The Roeper School. As a professional dancer, she has performed with both ballet and modern-based dance companies, and she has choreographed for numerous community theater and school productions. Ms. Allen earned her B. A. degree from Wayne State University.
