ROEPER SUMMER SPECIALTY CAMPS 2014
In addition to our well-known Day Camp and Summer Stock Theatre programs, Roeper offers specialty camps to meet specific interests of students that are smaller in size and shorter in duration. Each specialty camp allows campers to have fun and learn from Roeper teachers who are experts in their fields.
The Roeper Clay Camp is a unique pottery program offering a total hands-on experience for students entering 3rd through 12th grade, as well as an adult only class. A wide variety of ceramic techniques are taught: shaping clay into pinch pots, designing and constructing slab projects, building unique coil vessels, clay decoration and glazing.
The Roeper Dance Camp is designed to engage students with a passion for dance, in a challenging and creative summer dance experience. Each one-week camp provides young dancers with a solid foundation in ballet and modern dance technique, combined with the opportunity to explore and refine their choreographic and interpretive dance skills.
The Roeper Photography Camp is a unique hands on experience where students explore the magic of black and white pinhole photography using an authentic darkroom. Students entering 7th to 12th grade will shoot a variety of pinhole cameras, produce paper negative, make positives in the darkroom and learn how to hand color black and white photographs.
The Roeper Science Camp has been created for students entering 6th through 8th grades. It is an opportunity for middle school students who love science to explore science concepts with hands-on activities in real-life situations.
