Summer Stock Theatre Senior is for children currently in grades 5 through 8. This program provides a solid theatre basis for all students while challenging the more seasoned actor. At the end of the three-week session, a musical is performed for family, friends and other members of the community. Though we work toward the final performance, much of the instructional time is spent on developing specific acting, singing and dancing skills allowing students to enhance their skills. All instruction is provided by professionals in their respective fields who work in Michigan regional theatres or schools.

Summer Stock Theatre Junior  is for children currently in grades 3 through 5. Students have fun learning the basics of theatre, specifically in the areas of character development, improvisation, movement, dance and music from professionals working in Michigan regional theatres. or schools. At the end of the two-week session, students put on a performance for family, friends and other members of the community.

Summer Stock Theatre Primary  is for children currently in kindergarten through grade 2. With a focus on exploration in theatre, music and dance, this program provides ample structure with plenty of time for playing and exploring different aspects of performing on the stage. Daily activities include skill-building classes, games, crafts, activities and more taught by teachers who are experts in their fields. Each two-week session culminates in an original final performance featuring scenes, dances and musical numbers.

Summer Stock Theatre Preschool  is for children currently 4 or 5 years old. This program will unleash your child's imagination through an exploration of acting, music and dance. Led by an experienced teacher and two assistants, each session includes singing, skits, games, crafts, activities and more. Each one-week half-day session culminates in a short presentation of selected skits, songs and dances on the last day of class. Campers may also enroll for a full day experience, which adds structured enrichment activities and games in the afternoon. All campers must be able to use the bathroom independently. Pull-ups are not not allowed at camp.

A day in the life of a camper attending the Primary, Junior or Senior Summer Stock Theatre starts with a warm-up exercise to get them ready for the day. The day then quickly jumps into a game or activity designed to reinforce the skills needed for acting, singing or dancing. This transitions into rehearsal time for the show. There is a mid-morning break for a quick drink of water and a snack brought from home. Then, it's back to working on the show all together or in smaller break-out groups.

Lunchtime is unstructured and gives campers a chance to relax, eat their lunch, play on the playground, interact in games led by counselors or informally practice their lines with friends. Primary campers also participate in crafts during lunch time.

The afternoon continues with rehearsal time and/or other activities related to the show. Before the day ends, there is a brief wrap-up to review the day and prepare for the next.

Campers are given scripts and CDs for review and practice at home.  Regular attendance during the program is essential for student success in the program. Please note: students who plan absences of any kind may not be cast in speaking roles.

Families with campers enrolled in the Summer Stock Theatre Senior Program will receive two tickets per enrolled camper to the performance. Additional tickets are $10 each. For all other camps, admission to the performances are free.

A show T-shirt will be provided to each camper free of charge. Preschool campers will receive Theatre Camp shirts.
