Choosing an independent education is unquestionably expensive but our families find that the advantages of a Roeper education for their child are well worth the cost. The school’s personalized curriculum and careful cultivation of each child’s emotional growth and well-being will pay rewards for years to come in students who grow to become confident, creative and productive adults.

Tuition refund insurance offered by A.W.G. Dewar provides your family partial financial protection should your child be withdrawn from the school, subject to the terms of the policy. The premium rate for the 2016-17 academic year is 1.5% of the total tuition for your oldest child covered, with a proportionate reduction for those on Financial Aid and billed annually in July. The fee for your 2nd child covered under the plan is .9%. There is no fee for the 3rd and 4th children. Participation is required for families taking advantage of the School’s FACTS installment program. Coverage is optional but recommended for families who elect to pay the tuition in full by August 1st.
Roeper tries, to the extent that it is able, to diminish the financial burden for families. Need based financial aid is available for students in Stage II through Grade 12. Financial aid can cover up to 50% of the tuition and in rare circumstances more. There are also a limited number of full pay Scholarships which are outlined below.
Roeper uses School and Student Services (SSS) to process our financial aid applications and using the information reported by families online on the Parent Financial Statement (PFS), estimates the amount the family can contribute to educational expenses. Factors considered include total income, assets, net worth and discretionary income. The Roeper Scholarship and Financial Aid Committee reviews both the SSS report and the required documentation - most recent federal income tax return and W-2s - to make their decision. The grants are given for one year of tuition. Forms and documentation need to be submitted again before each school year, at which time the requests are reevaluated.
For the children of divorced or separated parents, a Parent Financial Statement (PFS) form must be completed for the household of each biological parent including income information for step-parents or guardians. A non-custodial parent must complete a PFS even if he or she is not required to pay child support. This requirement may be waived if the whereabouts of the non-custodial parent is unknown.
Families are encouraged to begin their financial aid applications as early as possible in the admissions process by submitting the Parent Financial Statement. Roeper will provide assistance to families who do not have access to the online form.
The Roeper School offers only need-based scholarships. The submission of a PFS and backup documentation as outlined above is required. There may also be scholarship specific requirements. The Admissions Office can advise applicants as to the availability of scholarships and eligibility requirements. All recipients must successfully complete the standard entry requirements for the school. The Roeper Scholarship and Financial Aid Committee makes the final determinations.
