UPPER SCHOOL ACADEMICS

In The Roeper Upper School classroom, conceptual and experiential learning are the norm. Critical and divergent thinking are encouraged in classes that contain an average of 14 students. The Upper School faculty is enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated to the school, to the program, and to the students. The informal and strong relationship which exists between teacher and student is the very heart of Roeper’s Upper School program: a caring, mutually respectful, cooperative relationship. The school recognizes and encourages academic excellence, providing intellectual stimulation and challenge in courses geared to the able learner. Coursework is accelerated in both pace and conceptual depth. Every effort is made to accommodate the range of interests and abilities among our student population through individualized scheduling, flexible placement, and independent study opportunities.
