Why Choose Roeper?

Roeper Summer Programs has been providing multi-faceted programs focusing on fun and personal growth for 77 years. Children love Roeper camps, and parents trust us.

The Roeper School founders, George and Annemarie Roeper, introduced summer camps in 1947 to provide a rewarding and accessible experience for children throughout metro Detroit. Roeper Summer Programs continue to embrace the central characteristics of the Roeper community: diversity, an appreciation for all people, and respect for everyone’s potential.  The Roeper School’s mission, educating and inspiring gifted students to think as individuals and engage as a community with compassion for each other and this world, extends to Roeper Summer Programs. Although the school is designed for gifted students, Roeper Summer Programs are open to all children.

Summer camp is an American tradition giving children a place to grow and develop life skills that will last long after summer. Summer camp encourages teamwork, collaboration, and communication through activities focused on achieving group goals. Attending a camp is a great way for children to gain valuable social skills and learn how to make new friends. A camp experience is part of your child’s total education.

Our well-trained and experienced counselors deliver a program that is rich and varied. Children’s talents, skills, and interests are explored and developed in a safe, collaborative, fun environment.  Counselors are dedicated to providing each child a place to feel secure, gain self-confidence, and grow.

Roeper Summer Programs, part of The Roeper School, is a licensed Child Care Center by the State of Michigan.
